Nothing is better than having a summer full of fun family activities! Huntington Beach is full of family-friendly adventures, and to narrow down your search, we’ve compiled a few we think you and your kids would love. From concerts to fishing, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
Adventure Playground
Huntington Beach Adventure Playground is now open for the summer! Until August 19th, the playground will available from 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Saturdays. There is a pond that kids can raft around, a mud slide for them to splash down, and a rope bridge to balance across. If they want to bring their visions to life, there is a building area to use hammers and saws to create whatever their hearts desire. As you can tell, this is not an activity that kids will be staying clean, so be sure to bring an extra change of clothes!

Huntington Beach Concert Band – Summer Series
Every Sunday there will be live showcases of an array of talented artists. This is a tradition in Huntington Beach that everyone enjoys. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and even a picnic dinner to enjoy with your family. There will be free Latin & swing dance lessons before every concert, so bring your dancing shoes!

Huck Finn Fishing Derby
Gather all your little fisherman and head to the pier! On August 13th, the Community Services Department and Let’s Go Fishing at the Huntington Beach pier will be holding a fishing derby for children ages 4 to 15. There will be prizes given to the best dressed Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher, as well as prizes for the largest fish caught in each age division. Registration starts at 8 am and the fishing begins at 9:15 am. Until noon, when the fishing concludes, you will have a blast watching all the participating kids catch fish off of the pier.
