Summer is here and it’s a great time to discover all that Orange County has to offer. From aquariums to sports and movies, there’s something for every member of the family. With COVID restrictions being lifted, this summer is slated to be much more active than last.
Let’s check out what activities you should put on your list this summer.
Knotts Berry Farm
If you ever visited Knotts Berry Farm as a child you may remember it as a small family farm. Today you’ll find roller coasters, stage shows, interactive experiences, and plenty of other fun that the entire family can enjoy. While you’re there you can check out the marketplace that has restaurants and souvenirs.
When you want to cool off you can visit Knott’s Soak City Waterpark. At Soak City, there are 23 speed, tube, and body slides. There is also a family raft ride and a wave pool. The three-story Beach House features 200 water guns, nozzles, and sprayers. There is a separate admission than Knotts Berry Farm, so keep that in mind if you go. Knott’s Berry Farm is located in Buena Park.
Nothing says family fun like Disneyland. From rides to attractions and everything else in between, you won’t be hearing “I’m bored” from any members of your family. Ride on Big Thunder Mountain or take the little ones on Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Besides the rides, there are character experiences that you can book for the children so that your children can see some of their favorites.
You can also book a stay at one of the Disney hotels so that you are close to the action. This makes it easier to start your day off early at the park and stay late for all of the nighttime fun. Disneyland is located in Anaheim.
Aquarium of the Pacific
Children and adults will have fun walking around the Aquarium of the Pacific. This aquarium has so many exhibits to see including sharks, sea otters, jellies, and so much more. Kids will get to be up close and personal with many of these creatures. You can also book an animal encounter where you can interact with one of the aquarium’s birds. You’ll find the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
Pirate Dinner Adventure
This is an interactive dinner experience where a classic story of good versus evil unfolds right in front of your eyes. As you enjoy your dinner with your family you can check out all of the action around you and cheer for your favorite pirate. Children and adults will enjoy this fun night of adventure and great food. Pirate Dinner Adventure is located in Buena Park.
The Discovery Cube is a place where kids can explore science in fun and interactive ways. Whether it’s the Physic Lab or Science of Hockey exhibit, there’s something for every child. There is also a dino exhibit and a space exhibit that is out of this world. This is a great idea to put on your list for a rainy day or a day when your kids just want to explore. Discovery Cube’s Orange County location is in Santa Ana.
Are you a family of sports fans? If so, attending an Angels baseball game can be fun for everyone. Check out the schedule to see when they’re playing at home. You can even get a tour of the stadium. The tour includes a look at the dugout, visitors’ clubhouse, and press room. The Angels stadium is located in Anaheim. Be sure to check for tour availability as the pandemic has changed schedules and offerings.
Day at the Beach
You can never go wrong with a day at the beach, especially in Orange County. There are so many different beaches to choose from that you can visit several over the summer. Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach are just a few great beaches to spend time at with the family. Make a day of it and visit local restaurants and shops while you’re at the beach.
No matter what you choose to do in Orange County, you’ll find family fun everywhere. Whether you pick one of the items on this list or all of them, you’re bound to have fun in Orange County this summer.
